CS1 - 124CS10118180

First entry 06/2014: I’ve owned the car nearly four years now and enjoyed every minute of it. I bought the car in 2008 with 6,148mi on the odometer, meaning it really has 106,148mi. The previous owner could not prove that the odometer had rolled over, but it is a safe assumption. I hunted for over a year before settling on this example. Manufactured in 1976 and titled as a 1977 it appealed to me for several reasons. The two most important were a clean title and no rust. The car is in good running condition and inspected in MA, during the summers I regularly commute 50mi to work in it on the highway drive all over Boston, and up to Salem on weekends. The body on this car is in good condition. It has scratches, dints, and dings but no major issues or damaged panels to note. The engine is the 1.8L with a single Weber 32 ADHD carb. I’ve never had the compression checked as it runs well. The transmission in these cars is a 5 speed manual with cable clutch and is fully synchronized. When I bought the car it was low on transmission fluid and a bit noisy, but once refilled with the proper fluid for the type of soft metal synchros it has everything has worked very well. The clutch seems to be in great condition. The interior is well worn. The dash is cracked, the wood may have been replaced, the center console is cracked, and the seats are cracked as well. The top in the car is relatively new, in excellent condition, and canvas. For sale in 04/2012. Found at mirafiori.com. Update 06/2012: Transmission Manual. Mileage: 108,000 miles. Auctioned at ebay in 05/2012 for: $4,000. Update 06/2014: I didn't have much luck selling the car and so when I moved from Boston to Austin I committed to keeping it and had it shipped. To make a long story short the shipping company did a number on the car. The 'frame' is now bent, the rear suspension trailing arms are bent, the exhaust system is broken in two, the passenger floor pan is damaged, and for the life of me I can't get it to run like it used to. After 8 months of dealing with the shipping company and insurance companies my insurance company totaled the car and wrote me a small check for the value of the Fiat. At this point the car is here with me in central Texas and I'm looking to sell it for parts. Update 07/2021: New owner. bought her in January 2015. she has been repainted, the frame issue corrected, and now wears the powder-coated wheels. She also has a Weber 32/36 DEFV carburetor and seats from a Porsche 914, as well as front/rear "bumperettes" from a Porsche 911. The shocks and springs were replaced to counter the effects of losing all the weight of the original bumpers.
