First entry 12/2019: Guarantee and service policy brochure found at Facebook in 2019. Update 12/2024: New owner. Four years ago I purchased a 1969 "AS" Spider from the estate of the original owner, car was described as "recently restored, needs to be assembled, completely rust free, all records". Though the car spent most of its life in California it was currently in Florida, I live in Oregon. I spoke to the widow of the owner, an Army doctor who purchased the car after surviving his first tour of duty in Vietnam. She said the car was last driven to the bodyshop in 1994, the California tags were from 1994. When the car arrived it was not as represented...a seized 2 liter was present and it had incorrect doors from a 2 liter as well as later glass and top frame. It was amazingly free of rust however. I fitted a 1608, in retrospect I wish I kept it a 1438, and went through transmission, chassis, brakes, interior etc. I painted the car myself as the prior paint was from 1994. Update 04/2026: (10)6k Miles Shown. This 1969 Fiat 124 Sport Spider was sold new to a US Servicemember while stationed in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and it later spent time with the first owner and their family in California and Florida. It was acquired in 2019 by the seller, who tells us that a subsequent refurbishment totaling over $20k involved repainting the body in Giallo Colorado, reupholstering the seats in black leather, and rebuilding the replacement 1.6-liter inline-four with a machined block, a polished crankshaft, a balanced rotating assembly with European-specification pistons, and dual Weber carburetors in addition to fitting a replacement convertible top, a Retrosound stereo, an Alphasonik amplifier, and more. The car rides on 13″ Cromodora wheels and a suspension fitted with Koni Yellow shock absorbers, and it also features a driver-side mirror, Fiamm-style air horns, and a cabin heater. The five-speed manual transmission received replacement bearings under current ownership, and maintenance in preparation for the sale involved adjusting the valve clearances, re-torquing the cylinder head, and changing various fluids. This 124 Sport Spider is offered in Washington with factory literature, workshop manuals, service and parts invoices, refurbishment photos, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name. Auctioned at BaT in 04/2026 for: Sold for USD $15,000.
