The first owner held it for a year, the second for 18, and I have owned it since 2000. As to how the mileage sorts out, the second owner bought it from the original owner in 1982 with 21677 on it. I bought it from her in 2000 with about 56000 on it. It now has about 69000 miles on it. It was well maintained by the woman who owned it for 18 years, and its meticulously maintained by me or more precisely by my mechanic. In fact, I have put $16,700.20 repairs & improvements into it, and have the receipts to prove it. My Spider has never seen a winter, and there is absolutely no rust on the body. There is a bit of surface rust on the bumpers. When I first obtained the car, I had it gone over by the mechanic, including adjusting the valves, replacing the timing belt etc. I also had it repainted, installed a new canvas top, and re-did the interior. This is a very dependable vehicle and it has never left me stranded. It handles well by contemporary standards. The paint job was poorly done. Auctioned at Ebay in 06/2007 for: US $3,050.00 Reserve not met.
